Misery Signals’ third album “Controller” is like the sequel to a Hollywood blockbuster… everything is the same, only bigger. But whereas most sequels are shit, Misery Signals’ new release thoroughly kicked my ass during the heavy parts, made it easier for me to lick my wounds during the mellow parts with the ambient parts as the perfect way to make “Controller” even more entertaining.

New vocalist Karl Schubach has some friggin’ menacing growls to offer but can switch to a clean singing voice in the bat of an eye. It’s hard to believe it’s the same guy! And if all this already sound pretty promising, throw in a Devin Townsend production job and you’ll find yourself looking at a perfectly good follow-up to “Mirrors” and “Of Malice And The Magnum Heart”.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
