When Jesse Leach left Killswitch Engage by sending the rest of the band a mail the day before an important show, he was thanked for his services and replaced by Howard Jones. With Jones, Killswitch Engage became an even bigger name in the metalcore scene… if that was at all possible after “Alive Or Just Breathing”.

Killswitch Engage once again found themselves without a vocalist, when Howard Jones decided to leave the band after the band’s rather disappointing 2009 album. Meanwhile guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz had teamed up with Jesse Leach for the Times Of Grace project so it seemed like a logical choice to get Leach back in Killswitch.

“Disarm The Descent” is the result and it will beat the crap out of 2009’s self-titled album any time of the day. Leach’s clean vocals have improved since the band’s debut and he seems to have taken over a little of the bombast that Jones brought to the band. Everything else you loved about these guys is still present and accounted for…  shredding, guitar squeals, catchy choruses and Dutkiewicz’ brutal grunts. Seems like the kings of the metalcore scene have reclaimed their throne!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
