– by Nate Hennon
If one poured a healthy amount of Motörhead and Maiden into a tumbler, splashed some Matt Freeman on top, one would get the cocktail that is Charger (and a wicked hangover too).
Charger is a bass-forward, Heavy Metal adventure that genuinely captures all things I have been waiting to hear in a post-Lemmy world. Their debut album is a fast-paced, fist-pumping endeavor that satisfies the ears from beginning to end. My only criticism is that Charger's S/T only lasts 20 minutes. At the end of the seventh song, I found myself going back to the start of the album to get more Charger.
If you miss Motörhead/Lemmy or love Matt Freeman's work in Rancid, give Charger a listen; you will not be let down.
