Former Killswitch Engage bandmates Howard Jones and Adam Dutkiewicz have announced the debut album for their new collaborative project, Burn Eternal. The self-titled record is scheduled for release on February 26 through Metal Blade Records.
In conjunction with the announcement, the group released a lyric video for the lead single, “Wounds I’ve Made.”
Commenting on the track, Jones stated, “‘Wounds I’ve Made’ is about both acknowledging mistakes and regrets of the past, while also constantly evolving and moving forward. Sometimes change hurts, but it’s necessary for self-growth and to avoid being stuck in the past. Some relationships aren’t meant to be.”
Dutkiewicz added that the song dates back several years, noting, “It’s crazy to think that this was one of the first songs I wrote for this project… six years ago! I really hope you guys dig it.”
Jones and Dutkiewicz previously performed together in Killswitch Engage from 2002 to 2012, during which the band earned a Grammy nomination for 2004’s The End of Heartache and achieved platinum certification for 2006’s As Daylight Dies. Both artists originally emerged from the New England hardcore and metal scenes, with Jones fronting Blood Has Been Shed and Dutkiewicz playing in Aftershock before Killswitch Engage.
