Belgium’s Nothing Gold Can Stay have released “High Tide,” the final advance single from their forthcoming sophomore album, The Weight Of What We Keep. Listen to it below.
Built on driving guitars, melodic hooks, and reflective lyricism, “High Tide” examines the paradox of freedom: the disorienting feeling of having plenty of choices yet struggling to find genuine direction. At its core, the song confronts guilt, persistent self-doubt, and the frustrating habit of sabotaging your own progress even when you know the path forward.
“High Tide” marks the last preview before The Weight Of What We Keep arrives on December 11, 2026. Penned during an intense, concentrated two-week session in December 2025, the record takes an unsparing look at grief, self-doubt, relationships, and the emotional baggage carried over time.
Originally conceived as a personal songwriting outlet by Stijn Debontridder, Nothing Gold Can Stay debuted in 2024 with The Midas Touch. Taking cues from bands like Make Do And Mend, The Lawrence Arms, Brand New, and Living With Lions, the project blends emo, punk rock, and indie sensibilities, leaning heavily into raw, emotionally honest delivery.
