Ontario musical project Chastity, led by primary songwriter Brandon Williams, has released a new single titled “So Alive I Cry.” The introspective track explores themes of uncertainty, self-reflection, and personal reflection. According to Williams, the song was originally written in 2023 during a period of addressing personal cycles and habits prior to achieving sobriety in early 2026.

The release is accompanied by an official music video directed by Justin Singer, which debuted alongside the track today.

“So Alive I Cry” serves as a preview for Chastity’s upcoming full-length album, I Built This Prison Myself, set for release on November 13, 2026, via Deathwish Inc. and Dine Alone Records. The upcoming 10-track record draws conceptual inspiration from a historical 1976 fire at the former Whitby Psychiatric Hospital.
