More party music for punkrockers… that’s how Dave Kirchgessner describes Mustard Plug’s seventh album, their first since 2007’s “In Black And White”. Sure, they’ve taken their time to release a new album but it was well worth the wait. As one of the few bands who survived the 90s ska wave with their dignity intact (yeah, I’m looking at you Reel Big Fish), Mustard Plug proves that they still know how to party like it is 1999.

The new album also marks a return to their DIY roots. They fully funded “Can’t Contain It” through Kickstarter and teamed up with No Idea Records afterwards, completely parting ways with longtime home Hopeless Records in the process.

Opener “We Came To Party” serves as a mission statement and with every single horn blast or upstroke that follows, Mustard Plug deliver the perfect musical accompaniment for a good time. The album is jam-packed with upbeat songs and there’s no way you won’t be tapping your feet during “It’s You” and “Perfect Plan” or bobbing your head while listening to “Bang!” and “Twist The Knife”!
