With Jon Naclerio (We Are the In Crowd, My Chemical Romance) on board as the producer, the guys in Moving Brooklyn certainly went out of their way to make “Intervals” sound good. This 6-song EP opens nicely with “If I Ever”, a slick and catchy slab of pop-punk that is high on energy and ends with gang vocals. The band keeps up the pace with “Symmetry” and “Divorce Rock Record” before slowing down ever so slightly with “We Would Make Sense”.

There’s no denying that these tracks are catchy but for now Moving Brooklyn still lacks a thing or two in order to stand among their pop-punk peers. The songs on “Intervals” show hardly any variety and their lyrics read like entries in a teenager’s diary. With a little more time to develop however, fans of Taking Back Sunday and Anberlin will have a new act to swoon over.
