It was a sad day when Statues packed it in. People were consoling each other on the streets, flags were lowered and a national day of mourning was being talked about. But then Rob from Statues announced that he was starting a new band. It was just enough to draw us all from our stupor as we anxiously awaited a first release.

That first release is now upon us in the form of a 2-song 7”. While not a carbon copy of Statues, Der Faden offer enough similarities to instantly feel familiar. “Best Guess” comes with a sweet start/stop guitar riff that explodes in an even sweeter chorus and “Filaments” is all jittery and nervous energy that walks the tightrope between power-pop and punk.

Definitely a great introduction to a band that we will hopefully get to hear more from in the near future!
