Alternative-Indie punks Willowake, have announced signing with SoCal based Wiretap Records, to release their upcoming debut EP out this summer. You can watch the video for their latest single "Spiders" below. The track and EP were produced and recorded at Total Access Recording Studios in Redondo Beach, CA by Steve Ornest and Co-produced by Jakob Armstrong, son of Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and the band Ultra Q.

"Spiders details a feeling of self-doubt, specifically in situations of pressure to change for others," says the band about their latest single. "It's the newest song that was written for the EP; JR demoed it back in April 2023, a little over two months before we went into the studio. The three of us were struggling to figure out what songs we wanted to put onto our debut project. When fitting the current EP songs with others we had, nothing seemed to fit right. But Spiders fulfilled the missing piece that completed the puzzle. Producers Steve Ornest and Jakob Armstrong helped bring this song to life, heard from their added touches of arpeggiated synth patterns in the verses and a driving guitar lead that perfectly completes the chorus. The music video further expands on the lyrics theme of identity loss encapsulated by overthinking."

Willowake was formed in the South Bay right outside of Los Angeles with JR Polanco on vocals/guitar, Gavin Alvarado on bass, and Dax Corcoran on drums. The 3-piece brings a face-lift to 90s alternative rock by combining it with elements from new wave and modern indie-punk, heard from their driving bass leads, punching rhythm guitars, and powerful drum fills that coincide seamlessly with each other.
