Ready for some hardcore punk with additional rock ‘n roll swagger? No, I’m not talking about The Bronx here even though the guys in Strike To Survive do take some cues from them on their debut full-lenth, “Yesterday’s News”. But you could just as easily claim they sound like a more straight-forward version of Refused. And while we’re in Scandinavia, why not namedrop Kvelertak while we’re at it. Without the black metal angle that is.

I know… three wildly different bands but when it comes to intensity, all of these bands – including Strike To Survive – are on the same page. “Yesterday’s News” is like that drunk guy at the bar that just won’t stop getting up in your face. Strike To Survive might still be a little rough around the edges and they need to work on catchy hooks to make their material more memorable, but they have their heart in the right place and if they keep going at it, I’m sure they’ll make a lot of heads turn in the not so distant future.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
