It looks like Seattle’s The Hollowpoints have been flying under my radar for 14 years. Cheeky bastards! That has now changed though thanks to their latest album, “Rocket To Rainier”, which will be out this Friday on Sailor’s Grave Records.

Combining Swingin’ Utters-like street-punk with more of a pop-punk kinda sound, these dudes crank out thirteen tracks that come with plenty of energy and hooks. There’s little to no variation to be found on here and it’s not exactly a novel idea, but there’s not a whole lot wrong with songs like “Reptilian Way” and “You Ought To Know”.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
