Toronto’s Coming Clean waste no time on ‘Dead End//Detour’ and jump right in with opening track ‘Don’t Get Your Hopes Up’. It’s all bouncy rhythms, riffs that come at you from all directions, tons of energy and pop punk melodies. It’s not that you have never heard this before, but when done right a pop punk track can still be a pretty powerful thing. And well, these guys have got it down pat.

They then continue by doubling down for single ‘Pharmacophobia,’ worship at the altar of Set Your Goals for the title track and pull out all the stops on ‘Something’s Gotta Give’ and the grand finale that is ‘All’s Well That Ends Well’.

Fans of New Found Glory, Neck Deep, Knuckle Puck and old Blink-182, should probably do themselves a favor and check out Coming Clean. I guarantee it’s better than that new Blink-182 song. Then again, pretty much everything is.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
