Citizen are a bunch of young Michigan/Ohio-based dudes who recently released the aptly titled “Youth”, their second full-length, through Run For Cover.

The ten songs that make up this album fall under the emo/post-hardcore side of things with additional grungy influences. Whatever you want to call it, shit’s good. The way these guys play with quiet/loud dynamics is impressive and they know how to combine sheer power with melody. “Roam The Room” is a solid opener that immediately blows the door of its hinges. And by the time “Sleep” and “The Night I Drove Alone” roll around, I was completely sold. Make Do And Mend, Balance And Composure and Daylight better be ready… they just got some serious competition from Citizen!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
