It’s been less than a year since the garage-punks known as the Coathangers released "Nosebleed Weekend". But that doesn't stop these Atlanta natives from already following up their last album with an EP. "Parasite" will be out June 30 via Suicide Squeeze Records and if the tracks they have released so far are anything to go by, it's going to be another good one. We caught up with bassist/vocalist Meredith Franco to talk about the band's hometown.

PRT: What made you first fall in love with the city?

Meredith: The first time I came to Atlanta it was in the spring time and it is so beautiful!! Everything in bloom and the trees canopy over the streets.

PRT: If you had to come up with a marketing slogan for the city, what would it be?

Meredith: As Ludacris once said "Atlanta..where the players play"

PRT: Best place to play?

Meredith: The Earl. It's the perfect size..not too big not too small. The sound is great! And they have really good food!

PRT: Best place to go for a late night drink after the show?

Meredith: Elmyr or The Star Bar. Elmyr usually has djs and we have a specific table we always sit at...table 2. The star bar is where Steph used to work! If it's too loud from a show going on we just go to the green room and hang out!

PRT: Best place to go for a late night snack after the drink after the show?

Meredith: Octopus Bar. They open at 10pm and serve delicious food until 3am!

PRT: Best touristy thing to do in the city?

Meredith: Go to the aquarium or the World of Coca Cola!

PRT: Best hidden spot in the city?

Meredith: Southern Comfort . It's a "trucker bar" we filmed one of our videos there....trailer park boneyard. And have played there before. It's not as hidden as it used to be...every Sunday night they have karaoke.

PRT: One thing you would like to see changed in the city?

Meredith: Not have all the condos everywhere!

PRT: What's your best memory about the city?

Meredith: Our first record release show in the parking lot of Criminal Records! It was themed "dreams do come true" we had mini ponies and made pink clouds to hang behind us...there was even a monkey.

PRT: Where in the city did you get your heart broken?

Meredith: Nowhere :)

PRT: Is there a historical fact about your city that makes you chuckle?

Meredith: This is just a silly fact...There are over 60 streets with the word "peachtee"

PRT: Favorite song about your city you'd like to share, either yours or someone else's?

Meredith: F.I.L.A by Lil Scrappy

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
